Grosgrain ribbon

A narrow ribbon with a horizontal spiral pattern on its surface is called grosgrain ribbon. Grosgrain ribbons, like satin ribbons, are available in 196 colors and a dozen widths. Grosgrain ribbons are made from matte yarns, have no luster, and are characterized by horizontal stripes on the surface. Grosgrain ribbons are relatively thick and have a three-dimensional texture.
